Andrea Bargnani and DeMar DeRozan each scored 24 points, Jose Calderon had 17 assists and the Toronto Raptors beat the Bulls 118-113 on Wednesday night, snapping Chicago's four-game winning streak and spoiling Noah's return from thumb surgery.
"It's definitely not the result I wanted but we've just got to keep fighting," Noah said. "We've got to come with a better edge."
Derrick Rose scored 19 of his 32 points in the fourth quarter and added 10 assists, and Carlos Boozer had 24 points for the Bulls, who had won 10 of their previous 12.
If I were Tom Thibadeau I would make them run till they puke tomorrow. Thought they'd waltz in and walk all over the lowly Raptors. They got complacent. They played cocky. It took Rose three quarters to finally turn it on and play like an MVP.
But maybe they needed that little kick in the ass. Hopefully it woke them up. I know it's going to take Noah some time to get adjusted to game speed again, and the rest of the team to get used to playing with him, but as they say, hustle never goes in a slump. Every player on the team was out worked by his counterpart tonight.
The good thing is, Noah dominated on the glass, which is exactly what we needed. Our rebounding numbers were drastically lower than when Noah last played. At one point he had 12 boards in 12 minutes. I'll chalk this up to one of those experiences where you just forget about it and move on. The Bulls have the Heat tomorrow, and if they play like this again they'll lose by thirty at home.
I'll predict right now that the Heat continue their trend of playing like shit against good teams, and say the Bulls will win 104-92. Chalk it up as another statement game. Rose will have 30 plus points and another 8 plus dimes. Let's get after it fellas
