WE WILL NOT LET THE SOUTH SIDE IRISH PARADE DIE

NBC CHICAGO -  Chicago’s South Side Irish parade may be canceled, but Beverly revelers refuse to let it die.  A group of more than 13,000 people have vowed to show up on March 14 at the site where the parade took place and celebrate anyway, the Sun-Times reports.  Another 7,600 have counted themselves as maybes on the Facebook event listing.

Chicago is a cultural mixing pot, as we all know.  We have some of the most diverse neighborhoods in the world, let alone the country.  Jews, Arabics, Latin Americans, Germans, Polish, Greek, Asian... the list goes on.  In the south and southwestern neighborhoods like Evergreen Park, Beverly, Oak Lawn, Mt. Greenwood, etc. there is a VERY large abundance of people with Irish decent.  Having said that, I don't know where some people like this George Kelleher guy get the nerve to say things like this:

"On behalf of those who live in Beverly . . . If you don't have a party to attend please don't show up in the neighborhood, get blacked out by 10 a.m., puke, fight, go to the bathroom, or have sex on our front lawns or in our alleys or backyards," [The parade] was meant to be a neighborhood family-friendly parade to celebrate who we are, not a mini Mardi Gras. Thanks."

Have you ever seen the movie The Departed bro? If not, take a look at this video

Yeah yeah, I know it takes place in Boston too... But the same rules apply:  You decided to live in an Irish neighborhood... these are dirty, dirty people.  If you don't want thousands of Chicago Irish people blacking out by 10 am or banging in your back yard, then move south of I-80 or west of DeKalb.

And for all you non-Chicagoans, here's a little taste:
